About Us

Music4Children works to provide safe creative environments for children and young people under 18 years of age (or 25 years for those with disabilities). Some activities will engage parents and family members as well.

We provide opportunities and tutors for young people who may not have easy access to them, and work in partnerships to utilise our resources as effectively as possible. We focus our efforts on young people facing additional challenges - such as disability, poverty, or refugee status - and collaborate with established support groups to devise suitable programmes and maximise outreach potential.

Our programmes engage these groups in creative and enterprise activities, and are currently delivered in London and Kent, along with support for some international projects. The workshops are free at the point of delivery and directly empower the participants. Expert tuition and guidance ensure all participants have the best possible experience while they discover and develop their talents, build self-confidence and resilience, and foster a lifelong love for the arts and enterprise.

In 2020 we developed online activities, as a response to the Covid-19 restrictions imposed that year. Post-lockdown, we have continued to incorporate these sessions into some of our projects, alongside the in-person sessions. This way of working has allowed us to deliver projects in places that are much further afield, such as Mexico and Barbados.

In 2024 we collaborated with Lyrix Organix to deliver a pioneering accessibility programme for young disabled practitioners at Glastonbury Festival's Rum Shack. The programme is returning in 2025 and this time it will be featured at two of the festival's venues.

Music4Children also supports a residential shelter for disadvantaged girls in Dhulikhel, Nepal. This was the original inspiration for founding the charity and has been operational since August 2014. Owned and managed locally by Help Nepal Network, it currently cares for 23 girls aged 6-18 years.

Music4Children was shortlisted for the 2022 National Diversity Awards (Community Organisation - Multi-Strand).
